FALL ATHLETICS

The fall athletic season at SFLS marks the beginning of the academic year, focusing on leadership, precision, and school-wide participation. Our programs provide a structured environment where students can develop specialized skills and represent our community through competitive excellence in Class B.

FALL ATHLETICS

  • FOOTBALL (9AA) Our football program competes in the South Dakota Class 9AA division. This nine-man format is a fast-paced version of the game that emphasizes open-field strategy and versatile playmaking. The program focuses on tactical execution, specialized position skills, and the collective coordination required to succeed on the field.

  • VOLLEYBALL: This program is a game of strategy, court awareness, and rapid communication. Athletes focus on technical mastery—including serving, setting, and attacking—while working to build a cohesive team defense. The program encourages students to develop high-level hand-eye coordination and strategic thinking.

  • CROSS COUNTRY (BOYS/GIRLS): Cross Country is a distance-running sport where athletes compete on various natural terrains such as grass, dirt trails, and hills. While it involves individual pacing and goal-setting, it is a true team sport where the top five finishers' places are added together for a team score. Our program focuses on mental persistence and technical running efficiency.

Worth the wait.
